Tower Raising System

The AMPJACK® tower raising system is essentially a “crane in a box” — deployed by a small crew, virtually anywhere in the world. It is fully modular and is engineered to lift just about any tower design — from simple, single circuit towers to complicated, multiple circuit towers.

How It Works

A simple idea to solve complex problems

Basically, we use an easy-to-install and easy-to-operate custom hydraulic system. The AMPJACK® mounts inside the body of the transmission line tower, which is a safe working zone for the crew where limits of approach are a concern.

Once installed on the tower, the AMPJACK® takes the entire load of the tower section and conductor which the tower supports and then raises it to the utilities specified amount.

Once the tower is lifted, new tower framing is bolted in place and the Ampjack is removed from the tower.

This means the tower can be raised without de-energizing the existing line, saving costly outages during the raising of the tower.

The AMPJACK® system is compact, efficient, and designed to go where traditional tower-raising equipment can’t. A small, specialized crew of just 8–10 and a few standard trucks are all it takes to execute a precision lift.

Packed into just 8–12 custom-engineered job boxes, the entire AMPJACK® system travels light — easily towed by a flat-deck trailer or airlifted to remote sites. No cranes. No convoys.

AMPJACK® thrives where others stall — navigating tight trails, narrow right-of-ways, and terrain unreachable by heavy machinery. When road access ends, heli-lift deployment takes over.

Modular and efficient by design, AMPJACK® minimizes environmental disruption and often reduces or eliminates the need for extensive permitting. That means faster planning, fewer approvals, and lower ROW access costs.

Structure analysis and usage

  • Analyze the tower’s structural integrity under new load conditions
  • Ensure safe load paths during lifting and final raised state
  • Determine reinforcement requirements (if any)

Foundation analysis and usage

  • Assess foundation strength under raised tower loads
  • Verify uplift, bearing, and overturning capacities
  • Recommend mitigations if required

Tower extension design

  • Design custom extension steel to achieve required raise height
  • Match geometry and loading of existing tower
  • Ensure fast, field-ready fabrication and install
